Timsons Ltd are best known for the design and manufacture of custom built printing presses for the production of books. Each of these presses requires 30-40 tonnes of castings ranging from 1kg to 2,000kg.
Designed to produce high quality individual castings or small batch quantities, the increased efficiency and capacity of the new operation has enabled us to extend our sub-contract services to a wider range of customers. The two new induction furnaces have an inverter power of 750kW giving fast and responsive melt rates. We can supply castings up to 2.5 tonnes in all grades of grey iron and up to 1.0 tonne in S.G. iron. Quality assurance is of paramount importance. Carbon and silicon content are checked by thermal analysis and backed up by independent chemical and mechanical testing. The foundry has been designed with pollution control in mind. Investment in extraction and filtration systems confirm our commitment to a cleaner environment. |

Pattern Equipment Castings can be produced from your existing pattern equipment or we can quote for the supply of patterns. Production Methods Moulds are produced using a Furan airset sand system that benefits from the latest developments in chemical technology. For almost 75 years Timsons have gained a wealth of experience operating a foundry supplying both our own needs and those of other local engineering companies. Just two years ago we opened a new 10,000 sq.ft. facility incorporating the latest developments in sand mixing, distribution and reclamation, and a state-of-the-art melting system.
