Clocking-in Clock
This very early example of a clocking-in clock was manufactured in the early 1900s in Syracuse, New York. To 'clock-in,' the large lever is moved to the 'clock number' on the cast iron ring and the plunger punched into the appropriate hole. (Hence the expression 'punching the clock'). The event is recorded on a paper chart mounted on a revolving drum inside the clock.
